The First International Congress on World Day of Remembrance on Road Traffic Victims was held by GRTRC and GUMS in cooperation with Management and Planning Organization of Iranon 24^th November, 2015 in Zibakenar Cultural Complex, Anzali, Guilan.

Dr.Najafi, the governor of Guilanemphasized on the necessity of road safety management.He, considering the reduced rate of traffic accidents in Iran and Guilan as well, mentioned road safety management, traffic in safe roads, vehicles and more safe road users andappropriate response to accidents."Pedestrian and motorcyclists accidents are a huge burden in Guilan province and enough trainings are necessary for drivers to reduce traffic accidents", he added.

"All organizations should integrate to implement a trauma system in the country and Guilan; Tabriz, Shiraz, Yazd and Kashan must hold meetings and events to create a data center", he put.

Besides, Dr.Namakisuggested the pilot implementation of trauma system under governor supervision in Guilan.

Dr.AnoushBarzigar, the dean of GUMS, and Dr.ShahrokhYousefzadeh-Chabok, chairman of GRTRC also made speech on the importance of public health and trauma system components.

Dr.Yousefzadeh-Chabok mentioned pilot implementation of trauma system in Guilan as a constant development. He defined trauma as any physical or emotional damage affecting body tissues due to physical or chemical causes, which is preventable just like the other diseases. Yet, unlike the other diseases both people and society should be vaccinated against trauma. He further mentioned intoxication, drowning and electrocution as other types of trauma. Yousefzadeh-chabok stipulated that injury prevention, pre-hospital care, acute and post-hospital care are components of a well-organized trauma system.

"This is a great step and defining the provinces for pilot implementation of trauma system in the Sixth Development Plan of government is an important factor in way of achieving our goals"
